As a father of an Eagle Scout I have watched my son grow tremendously through the hard work
and dedication of others
besides myself. I owe a great deal of thanks to many others who
have been and still are involved in this Troop for helping my son
grow through his experiences in Scouting. In many ways I wish I
could do more in return, but all I can do is look at myself, my son,
your sons and the families all banded together in this Troop and in
return try to do my best to help where ever I can. By focusing on
the Scouts, those young men that we all care about, I have taken on
responsibilities that have never been a burden and in return have
been given a great gift that will never be forgotten.
No matter the role you take on,
however large or small it may seem, it does contribute to the
success of the Troop but more importantly to the success of many
young men as they try to find their way from childhood to
adulthood. I may fail to thank you all enough for the work you do
to support this Troop and my thank you can only serve as a response
of appreciation for your assistance, but the thank you of a young
man is truly something that is never forgotten and that is the true
reward of being an active adult in the Troop.
I hope every one of you takes the
opportunity to do something for the Troop that allows you to
experience that true gratitude that can only be expressed by a Scout
when they look at you face to face and say "Thank you"!
With the greatest appreciation for
what you have done for the Scouts in this Troop, or are about to do
for the Scouts in this Troop,
Dave Knopick
